Meet our 2023 Miss Marigold Queen!
Zoe Nizzia is the daughter of Kristina and Joey Nizzia, and a recent graduate of Pekin Community High School. While there, Zoe was a member of the volleyball team where she was a three-year varsity letter winner, 1st team all-conference, 2nd team all-conference, and a two-time member of the all-tournament team. She was also a club volleyball player for eight years. She was also a two-year varsity letter winner for the soccer team and a three-time recipient of the IHSA All Academic Award and served as a captain for both the volleyball and soccer teams. Zoe was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated Magna Cum Laude and was also a recipient of awards for citizenship and leadership. She was also involved with Best Buddies and Student Ambassadors. A four-year member of the High Honor roll, Zoe also won an award for her completed community service hours and was the recipient of the Rotary Award. This fall Zoe will be a freshman at Monmouth College, where she will play volleyball and study communications and political science. When asked to list some of her favorite hobbies, Zoe said things like dancing, making videos, taking care of her four guinea pigs, cleaning… and… most of all, spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to the title of Miss Marigold, Zoe won the Academic Achievement Award and the Community Service Award. Congratulations, Zoe!
